introducing pollster, an R package for more convenient work with weighted survey data

My R package pollster is now available on CRAN. Lots of great R packages already exist for complex analysis of survey data. This package fills a gap by creating simple functions that build topline, crosstab, and summary tables of weighted survey data. Optionally, all of these tables can include the margin of error. The margin of error includes the design effect calculated in the manner described by Kish (1965).

pollster automatically handles labelled data using the excellent labelled package. All functions are compatible with non-standard evaluation as used in the tidyverse.

The point of pollster is not to return pretty pre-formatted tables for publication. Instead, function output is always a tibble, or simple data frame. This allows you to easily pass the object to ggplot, knitr::kable, or any other graphing or table-formatting function.

See these pages for examples of pollster at work.
